Since its founding in 1999, Colourform Joinery has cemented a reputation as a specialist cabinet maker and joinery manufacturer, setting the precedent for high standards of accuracy, precision and customer service. Since taking ownership in September 2021, Jo and Grant Clegg have worked to polish and implement systems and processes to deliver tailored solutions for clients who expect perfection.
Combining the latest designs from leading architects with quality materials sourced from around the globe, we work predominantly with major construction companies and discerning residential builders, delivering high-end commercial fitouts, custom cabinetry, bespoke kitchens, industrial and commercial painting and home interiors.

Years of experience
Over the years, we've worked on corrections facilities, hospitality venues, schools, theatres, large-scale industrial parks, and luxury residences. Our recent projects include the Hamilton Zoo extension, the Regional Council building and the new building at the Waikato Innovation Park. Our latest projects include the new home for ACC in Hamilton on Collingwood Street, Industrial units in Earthmover Crescent, Te Rapa and building fit-outs in Union Square in the CBD.Build team
Our team is a good balance of experienced craftsmen and apprentices who are on their journey to becoming qualified with BCITO-led instruction and working alongside experts every day. Our young learners are getting practical, on-the-job training under close supervision. We span the translation of architectural plans into buildable interiors by using CAD technology, driven by our in-house detailers. Even now, with the benefits of a CNC taking on the precise cutting-out tasks there is still much of the work performed on large format machinery, as we make bespoke elements for fit-outs.
High-quality equipment
In our 1,000sqm Te Rapa, Hamilton factory, we have modern equipment supplemented with some automation, enabling us to produce high-quality work consistently. Our plant includes a CNC and the usual sliding table saws, fixed saws, thicknessers and planers, edge banders and even a spindle moulder more often seen in furniture manufacturing operations. We manufacture the complete job in-house and pass it through our own painting booths for staining, painting and clear finishing. We have trusted partners for glass, plastics, steel and powdercoating components to round out the job.

We do everything in-house allowing for a more streamlined process and the best possible results for our clients. In addition, we're constantly innovating and updating our methods and systems as we evolve, ensuring Colourform Joinery continues to inspire confidence in on-time, made-to-specification delivery within New Zealand’s construction and joinery sectors.

Tender Request
We are well-versed with New Zealand tender processes and have a streamlined submissions strategy to ensure a swift and accurate contract submission. When necessary, we submit two-stage tenders, including pre-qualification documentation, before the detailed competitive tender.
Negotiated work
We're happy to sit down and chat with residential clients, interior architects, or commercial companies requiring custom one-off joinery pieces for their re-fit, renovation or new build. Clients can work with our Quantity Surveyors and Detailers to refine their designs. All relevant pricing and material costs are discussed upfront, and we arrive at the correct and fair price through honest communication.
